Privacy-first, by design

Your reading data stays on your device. There is no account and no sign-in, nothing about your readers or their reading is uploaded to a server, and BookNest has no backend for reading data. BookNest shows a small number of ads via Google AdMob to help keep the app free — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that involves and what consent choices are available to you.

Frequently asked questions

Is my family's data private?

Yes. Everything stays on this device — no account, no upload, no tracking, and no data collected.

Can I track more than one child?

Yes. Add a reader for each child (or yourself). Each reader has their own daily goal, streak, and history.

How do I log reading?

On the Today screen, choose a reader and either start the timer or tap Log to enter minutes and pages.

How do streaks work?

A day counts toward a reader's streak when that reader meets their daily minutes goal. Streaks are tracked per reader.

How do I hand in a school reading log?

Open More → Reading Reports, pick a reader and a date range, then share or print the PDF.

How do I set a reminder?

In Settings, turn on “Daily reading reminder” and choose a time. Reminders are local notifications on your device and are completely optional.

How do I back up or move my data?

In Settings, use Export to save a backup file, and Import to restore it on this or another device. Import replaces the current library on that device.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual items in the app, or use Settings → “Delete all data” to remove everything. Removing the app also deletes its data from your device.

What is the Classeem link, and the Family Reading Resources page?

BookNest includes optional links to Classeem (printable worksheets and classroom resources) and to a Family Reading Resources page with more editorial picks for families. Both open an external website in your browser.

Does BookNest need internet access?

No. BookNest works fully offline.
